My name is Colin Young and I’ve been playing music since I was 6 years old. I started with piano, then picked up the clarinet when I was 9 and percussion when I was 14. Through that time I studied privately then went the Junior RSAMD in Glasgow. From there I became a full time student at the RSAMD and during all that time I’ve been involved in recitals and concerts in a variety of locations from local theatres to the the Albert Hall in London.
I believe that music is an excellent part of everyone’s life whether it be listening or playing. It provokes everyone’s creative side and creates unforgettable memories. The musical community, as far as I’ve experienced, are some the most accepting groups you will ever be part of. Drawn together by common interest it simply doesn’t matter what your background may be since it’s all about the music.
